Saying Goodbye To A Dear Friend

Christmas won't be such a happy occasion this time round... Losing someone is always a sad event. Fr. Joel was a pillar of our church, our parish priest. On the 13th, he suddenly collapsed after suffering from a massive heart attack. According to those who brought him to the hospital, he was DOA. They tried to revive him, to no avail and so at around 3pm, he was declared dead. He left so abruptly, so unexpectedly, the whole church is mourning for him even as we laid him to his final rest today, his loss is ever felt, especially that the Simbang Gabi is already starting, we will forever miss his homily's, his solemn prayer during consecration and his beautiful singing voice, which more often that not, you will hear during his homilies or talks or seminars that he would give his parishioners. I will miss him terribly...

Well, one positive thing I think that has come of this is that he is now resting... He has always said that he was tired, stressed and even in  pain, now he I'm sure he doesn't feel any of those anymore but feels the joy of being with the Father and I'm sure he's happiness is overflowing there in heaven.

The lessons we learned from him, the goodness of his heart and his generosity and forgiving heart will always be remembered by those whose lives he had touched.

Rest now, Fr. Joel. Your work is done, it's now our turn to do the work...
